Ever struggled to stay motivated? It happens to me often enough, and it’s apparently a problem for others as well. You can find a lot of articles online about motivation. But what are the most powerful motivation tools?
The jury’s still out on this but there are 3 specific tools found most useful for getting motivated.
If you’re struggling to get motivated, here are 3 powerful motivation tools and resources you need to use.
The Self-Coaching Model
If you only listen to one podcast episode of the Life Coach School, episode 1 is the one. Brooke Castillo explains the Self-Coaching Model that enables you to control your thoughts to get the results you want.
It’s a thought process that explains your inaction. I could explain it more, but I’ll leave it to the expert to explain to you.
So many of my readers say they’re not motivated to do anything. I highly recommend this episode of the podcast to help understand why you’re not motivated.
James Clear & Atomic Habits
Atomic Habits is my top book recommendation to anyone who wants to get organized. Why? Because 40% of your day is based on habit. Developing positive organizing habits is what will keep you organized.
What’s important here, specifically in Clear’s article on motivation, is that scheduling and consistency (habits) will initiate motivation and move you toward your end goal.
Creating habits are the key to motivation, and Atomic Habits will teach you how to do it.
PowerSheets
I spend a lot of time talking about the PowerSheets but it’s because there is such power in writing down your goals! Research has said you’re 42% more likely to reach your goals if you write them down. Writing down goals = motivation!
There are many goal planners out there, but I like the PowerSheets because of the Tending List. It’s easy to track progress and have a visual reminder of your goals. If you’re working on creating habits, as suggested by James Clear, the Daily Action Items / Habits section of the Tending List can help you keep on track.
